your dream job

Lately, I’ve found myself ruminating over how bored I am at work.  I have no passion for my job whatsoever.  Thankfully, I have several outside projects (UM included) that truly motivate me and will someday liberate me from the soul crushing world of corporate America.

Several years ago, it would have been hard to believe it’s possible to make a living doing what I’m truly interested in and naturally driven towards.

I give Greg credit for opening my eyes to the potential of monetizing a blog (allowing me to write everyday AND get paid for it?  genius!) and Tim Ferriss for showing me the way towards the nirvana of the Four Hour Work Week

I’ve actually just launched my first muse, an ebook on a topic I’m thrilled by, and will be sharing a case study about the project in the coming months.

The bottom line?  I’m already making money.  Writing.  Doing something I’ve always loved.

To anyone who thinks their hobby or dream job is never going to pay the bills; ask yourself one simple question:

“Is there anyone in the world currently making a living doing it?”

If the answer is ‘yes’, so can you.

Get off your ass and start working on it, however meager the effort seems.

Starting small is still starting.

I would love to be a chef without the time and commitment required to be one haha

Congrats Cash, nice to know there are such success stories, gives hope for those of us who keep contemplating the idea but haven’t made the jump yet.

Thanks Scott! The first step is the most important, and can be the most daunting.

Bringing us back to the oh so important mantra:

“You don’t plan to fail, you fail to plan.”
