Work Less with Urban Monarch
July 10, 2007 by Greg

We’ve written a fair amount about the 4 hour work week, and now it’s time to put it to the test. Starting next week, we’re assembling a limited group of just 5 people to form an entrepreneurial club to see what we can do to live this life of luxury.
We’re starting with income automation. While we think having a personal assistant and taking 3 month mini retirements are very important, bringing in extra cash comes in as a higher priority for us. We’ll be diving into the income autopilot chapters and following the exercises laid out. Each person will be responsible for their own projects, but we’ll learn from each other and offer guidance.
What’s required of you:
- Completing assignments in a timely fashion
- Continued participation, lurkers will be removed
What you’ll need:
- A copy of The 4 Hour Work Week
- $500-$1000 to invest in your own muse
The first five people to email greg@urbanmonarch.com get in. Get your books, work starts next week.

I would recommend anyone serious about this try and read the whole book before we begin. Even though the income automation piece is where we’re starting, understanding the motivations and ideals behind the rest of the book will definitely help you stay focused.
Good luck, we look forward to the project!
I’m down for this, Include me in the group.
Awwww man. Students don’t have money to invest. I’ll definitely be watching this experiment though. If it works maybe i can make a little cash from my muse.
I don’t have a muse (source of inspiration.) Can I borrow one?
(Yeah, I had to look it up. I thought it was only a verb but nouns are cool too. So what?)
Netflight,
It would definitely beat your typical student job…
Casey,
Part of the method involves finding your income muse. It involves first identifying a target market, brainstorming potential products, then testing your products in the market.
