why chuck palahniuk is cooler than you
June 15, 2007 by Cash
On the Fight Club video game, at a reading/signing:
I don’t care what they do with my book so long as the fucking check clears.”
Gawd lawd I heart Chuck Palahniuk.
PS: I just finished Choke; amazing.
I’d say it’s a close second to Survivor, and just ahead of Fight Club of the 3.5 Palahniuk books I’ve read. Next stop on my Palahniuk tour? Probably “Lullaby”.

Glad to hear you finished Choke. I found out a week or so ago, that Choke is going into production as a movie on June 18th.

As far as a Lullaby goes (and Diary), it is a much tamer Chuck. They are good stories, but not nearly as dark and as graphic as Choke and Fight Club. My next recommendation would be Invisible Monsters or Haunted, if you haven’t read them yet.
I highly recommend Invisible Monsters first. Then Lullaby and then Diary. Haven’t read Haunted but maybe that can be our book club book! See you guys tomorrow.
Alexander and Jillian; thanks for the advice. Diary is the one book I haven’t been able to finish! In like 3 years! Maybe I’ll give it another go. Probably though I’ll just move on.
When is the next palahniuk book out?
Rant is the latest one out. It was release a month or so ago.
rant is interesting. it felt like a blend of palahniuk’s past works. in that there were elements quite heavy with the feel of things from choke, or fight club. but the other half of the story felt like lullaby or diary. also the way it was written it works perfectly as an audio book, surprisingly so. i’m curious to see how it would compare to the dead tree version, but the audio was nearly hypnotiq on the long drive i just took.
