walter meego: voyager review

June 26, 2008 by Cash

Chicago duo Walter Meego may be more “Daft Funk” than “Daft Punk”, but they share more than the same head count with my favorite Parisian pyramid dwellers.

Their latest offering “Voyager” is a decadent swirl of electro-indie pop bliss, and will no doubt be the soundtrack for a thousand hipster barbequeus this summer.

From the insanely catchy, hook laden delight of “Forever” with it’s burping bass line and falsetto vocals to the darker, driving sounds of the stalker worthy “Keyhole”, WM prove they know their way around a sampler and a stack of 70’s soul records.

The bonus?  Thoughtful lyrics ruminating on love, lust and life.

Delicious.
