Walk Breaks
August 7, 2008 by Greg
Everyday after about 2 hours into the morning and about 2 hours into the afternoon I lock my computer and go outside for a 10-15 minute walk. Today, I adventured out onto a new route and I ran into two other sets of office walkers. Anyone else here utilizing the walk break?

for a good 2 months last year I and a coworker walked for at least 30 minutes each lunch break, often to and from our lunch destination, which as you may recall is quite difficult in the pedestrian unfriendly burbs of metro detroit.
got out of the habit when the temps climbed into the high 90s…. and never started again.
I think its high time to do so. Too bad there isnt much variety in the available routes. Industrial park.. 5 lane roads. Boy do I ever hate working in Troy. Troy is 100% horrible.

There is nothing more redeeming. Every job I’ve had for the last 10 years has included walks. Usually around the corporate business parks, but now, double bonus - getting to stroll through the city I love people watching all the crazy characters that litter the streets.
I believe in the walk break!
Now I work in an office that has a huge vegetable garden in the back, so I take garden breaks where I walk around, harvest some squash and eggplant, and get to be alone for 15 minutes. It is the greatest thing ever.
