vegas doorman wanted; salary $500K+
February 29, 2008 by Cash
Spend 5 minutes (or more likely, 3 hours) waiting in line at a Las Vegas club and it’s pretty obvious people working there are doing okay. Most are sporting expensive suits and an air of superiority only two things can inspire; power and money.
How much money these people are earning however, amazes even me.
Leave it to an IRS investigation to bring the facts to light;
Sources have been telling me that doormen at several clubs are clearing $8,000 to $10,000 a night before they share tips. So much cash is pouring in that some doormen are making $400,000 to $500,000 a year, several nightclub executives told me.
“Pure has guys at the door making more than the president,” said one executive with intimate knowledge of the cover-charge system. He was referring to the annual salary of the president of the United States, which is $400,000, plus benefits.
I think I’m in the wrong line of work.

Until said club isn’t the hotspot anymore and said doorman is out on his 500,000 ass with no skills and (most likely) no savings. Or I could just be jealous…
Thats pretty fucked up. My last three trips to Vegas I vow to hit some nice clubs, Pure, etc.. then I hit a craps table and don’t stop playing except to get my requisite 3 hours of sleep. I have yet to get a table and bottle service at some pretentious club.
That being said if those dudes are clearing 500k I’m a little bit jealous.
