USB Cellphone Charger
May 3, 2007 by Greg

Last night I came home to a big plastic white envelope with customs tags from Hong Kong. A few weeks ago, determined to solve the problem of a perpetually dead cellphone, I sought out all the possible portable charging options. Till I ripped open the package, I almost forgot that I had the full gamut of cell phone charging options on special order.
This morning, I woke up with an almost dead cell phone. Looking to my new pile of accessories in a groggy state, I picked the best option to get me charged. My first inclination was to grab the AA battery powered cell phone battery booster, but after digging around, I realized I didn’t have AA batteries handy. The extra battery shipped uncharged wasn’t going to do me any good, so I grabbed the usb charger.
Finding the right adapter amongst the chinese packaging wasn’t too difficult. It looks just like my current wall adapter. I plugged it in, attached it to my cellphone, and I’m currently charging at work. As a side bonus, this little usb charger is just slightly larger than a usb cable, so it is easy to carry.
Round One Winner: USB Charger

How much was the USB charger? I need one.
Like $10 tops
Not bad at all for someone who is always by a computer.
It drives me insane that RAZRs have a mini USB port that could charge from a laptop/computer but Verizon disabled the feature. It seems so common sense, yet, Verizon seems lost.
I think it’s the Razrs because I have one and I’m with Sprint and I cannot charge my phone through my computer either. Yuck.
[...] In my quest to keep a charged cellphone, I am overly excited about spare batteries. While the USB charger wins in the portable charger category, the spare battery wins in convenience. I am so over joyed I’ve turned into an evangelist. [...]
