Two Finance Links of Interest

February 12, 2008 by Greg

Yesterday I saw two popular financial links bouncing around the internet.  The first, from The New York Times, is a graph that separates Americans by their income bracket and analyzes their spending trends.  The second, from online conservative financial advisor Ramit Sethi, provides spreadsheet examples to track your wealth.

The thing I like about these two links is that while they are both on the same topic, I see a message more clearly in the New York Times.  While the gap of wealth creation can easily be widened by saving a little money, the biggest opportunity comes in earning more.  What conclusions jump out at you?

I checked out the NYT one yesterday. I only wish the categories weren’t so broad; it would be interesting to see the break down of ‘miscellaneous’ and ‘entertainment’.
