tryst nightclub review
July 30, 2007 by Cash
Upon arriving at the Wynn hotel Thursday night we found ourselves standing at the windows of a Ferrari/Maserati dealership. Looking out over the multi-million dollar sea of luxury cars, we knew our experience at Tryst nightclub inside would be unique. I had no idea just how unique.
After contacting our host Patrick we were led down a long, marble floored, roped off hallway which ended at the club’s main entrance. From our arrival at the hotel itself, we were stunned at the sheer number of truly gorgeous women loitering about. As we made our way past the general admission patrons awaiting entrance, we were reminded of this fact.
Dozens of times.
Another thing that stood out about the women was the caliber of their wardrobes. Most were wearing chic cocktail dresses with flashy heels and diamonds galore. Some of the men were in suits. This was obviously an upscale venue.
Down a sweeping staircase we went, landing in a dimly lit anteroom replete with a few intimate tables; most playing host to couples in varying states of seduction. Finally past the last gatekeeper we went, working our way down another hallway before spilling out into Tryst’s surreal world.
My jaw literally dropped.
Ahead of us was a large dance floor filled with the energetic vibe of perhaps a hundred happy club goers moving to a hip hop soundtrack. Flanking the floor, two elevated go go dancers wearing what appeared to be designer mini dresses and fuzzy boots. Beyond the dancing, a glass wall reaching into the cavernous ceiling framed the scene outside; a 90 foot waterfall cascading into a serene lagoon below.
Greg described the motif as a Vanity Fair spread brought to life, and this seemed fitting.
On either side of the space, bottle service booths, upholstered in what we guessed could easily be red crocodile skin; distressed and inviting. In the far corners of the room, more private booths were available, backed by sweeping bookcases.
Touring the club, a few things were apparent.
First, venturing outside was a tranquil escape from the energy of the main room. Surprisingly, it offered a large patio where guests could socialize without the din of the club’s awesome sound system interfering. Also, the water of the lagoon seemed to act as a natural air conditioner for the patio area; quite refreshing. Softly lit lanterns were draped across the cabana-like booths on either side of the lagoon, and the entire vibe seemed exotic and removed from Las Vegas.
Another positive note; the club is laid out in a way that allows for easy movement even in the midst of a huge crowd.
Although we had plans later in the evening that prevented us from staying too long, we definitely look forward to returning to Tryst to enjoy the otherworldly opulence within.
