tron sequel

Daft Punk’s use of Tron like suits for the final encore of their amazing Red Rocks performance got me thinking about the venerable piece of sci-fi. I can say for myself, it was one of the things that got me obsessed with technology in the first place. News of a sequel, and some of the tidbits being release about potential contributors has me buzzing with excitement.
First, a return by key players in the original:
Sean Bailey is producing via the Live Planet banner, as is Steven Lisberger, who co-wrote and directed the original film.
Next up, visual effects geeks who grew up loving the original:
Sources also said visual effects personnel, for many of whom “Tron” was an inspiration to enter the business, already are jockeying for pole position to work on the sequence.
Uber-computer nerds vying for a chance to contribute to a new take on one of their beloved favorites? This can only end well. And for once, I say that without a hint of sarcasm.
