Trivia from Plant Geeks

Currently I’m riding in a green Honda Element en route to my brother’s wedding in Key West.  My travel companions are all horticulturists with advanced degrees and differing specialties. As we pass various foliage in the everglades, our conversations often seem to lean towards plant fodder. 

Without further ado, here are 3 random bits of trivia to contemplate.

• Palm (as in trees) is the second largest plant family, orchids are the first
• Potato fruit are posionous (the part you eat is the tuber)
• Lucky bamboo is not really a bamboo, it’s a dracaena.
