    I did too. Moved from investment banker to video game producer. Nightmare to dream job.

    I only THOUGHT it would make me happier. I moved to AZ when my daughter did, and the pay for ANY job here is FAR below national averages, and since we moved here from the Seattle area, the pay for our skills sucks. OK, my daughter loves it here enough to compensate for her lost earnings, me, not so much. I intend to move back to Washington sometime in the near future. It’s not all about the money, it’s about the life-style…(and weather) for both of us, but she loves it and I don’t. I won’t be happy about being so far away from her, but in the end I’ll be happier overall.

    Cory, I know for a fact your life is the pinnacle of what your existence can be. I had no idea you took a cut in pay to achieve it. Congratulations for taking the highest, yet hardest road.

    Justin; I don’t think I’ve seen you comment before, but thank you. I will be forwarding your comment to a good friend who makes SICK money as a C#.net brainiac, but whose heart lies in the potential to make video games (his true passion in life).

    Caroline; oh dear Caroline. How I enjoy your input always. While I think it’s admirable that you moved to a place you don’t like to help make your daughter happy, I’m glad you’re considering a move back to Seattle. The highest calling for anyone on earth is to understand their path to happiness, and pursuing it without regret or fear of consequence. Good luck. And don’t you dare stop reading UM.
