“top 3″: best coffeehouses in denver
August 8, 2007 by Cash

While searching for “Denver electronica” (??!!) I came across a random blog with a solid top three list of (downtown) Denver area coffee shops.
Although the 00Denver blog I’m sourcing may not be around for long (tell-tale signs include wordpress’ default ‘about’ page, and no updates since mid may), my firm agreement with his choices merits their inclusion here on UM.
Here’s his list, with my own comments on each:
A Denver institution on Larimer street; the perfect place to take a quick break from a boozy Saturday night bar crawl. On weekdays? Filled to the brim with coeds from Metro state, just a few blocks away.
UM’s adopted home away from home. Think awesome Lavazza coffee, delicious food (try “the Beast” sandwich if you’re in the mood for meaty goodness) and even cheap Salsa lessons on Tuesday nights. Expect cute, tattoo’d up hipster baristas and an open sign that never goes out; Leela’s rawks it 24 hours a day.
Definitely more upscale than the other two, Aviano doesn’t skimp on atmosphere (it resides in one of Denver’s more extravagant high-rises) or perfectly poured lattes and the like. Hey, if it was good enough to be the location for Urban Monarch’s second Urban Minx photo shoot, it’s good enough for you.
