Tony Chachere and Crystal

Recently my New Orleans operative came to Denver to bring me a few prized gifts from cajun country: Crystal’s Hot Sauce and Tony Chachere’s Creole Seasoning.  Why does everything in New Orleans have someone’s name attached to it?  I don’t know, but Crystal’s is a delicious and cheaper alternative to famed Tobasco brand products and Mr. Tony Chachere is like a cajun Lawry’s seasoning salt.  If you see some, buy it, and put it on, well, everything!

My favorite: Cajun Power Garlic Sauce. http://www.cajunpowersauce.com/

Strangely, I discovered it at Fishbones down in Greektown Detroit. I’m still looking for an excuse to order a 5 gallon bucket.

This sounds good. I think you need to whip up some tofu jambalaya.

If you ever think of NOLA specific products that you can’t find in Denver, just let me know and I’ll send them to you. I do it for a friend of mine in NY who can’t find a praline topping sauce that seems to be only available here.
