tommy bahama set sail st. barts soap on a rope
May 11, 2007 by Cash
If there’s one thing I never thought I’d own, it’s soap on a rope. I’m just not a ’soap on a rope guy’ (if such a guy exists). Still, when the fine folks at Gemini Cosmetics sent us essentially the whole Tommy Bahama product line (to be reviewed in depth via a forthcoming no-holds barred head to head sniff-off feature) including the Set Sail St. Barts soap on a rope, I was more than a little curious.
The Set Sail St. Barts fragrance is one Greg swooned over in an earlier article.
True to form, the soap is heavily scented with the citrusy, tequila lime and guava deliciousness that is Set Sail St. Barts. After opening the package in the afternoon, I hung it in my shower and essentially forgot about it. Later that night, I walked into the bathroom to be greeted with the delectable essence of the scent, which had permeated the air. Score one for the soap on a rope acting as a inadvertent air freshener.
The following morning, I actually tried it out. For ‘bar soap’, I found it luxurious and not at all drying or flaky. This can likely be credited to the mango butter and papaya extract the soap is ‘enriched’ with. For someone used to liquid body wash, this was surprising and welcome.
I would definitely recommend the soap on a rope, as a dual purpose product, keeping your skin, and bathroom air smelling like a warm Caribbean afternoon.

Nice. I use my bar soaps with a loofa. It seems to make the soap last longer and provide more lather.

Five 5 Clean Reasons to Buy this Soap.
5) Using this soap is like taking a daily trip to the islands, every morning right before commuting to work.
4) It cleans your bod and deodorizes your bathroom at the same time. You’ll swear you have a maid from Barbados living with you.
3) It has an island scent that keeps you reminiscing of your last Carribbean Voyage, and all the booty you plundered while you were there.
2) It Smells better than it tastes. (Don’t use after a night of binge drinking)
