Things You Should Know - Teflon Pans
July 17, 2008 by Greg
I could write a heaping cup full of things you should know about the kitchen, but non-stick pans seem to be the thing I see people screwing up the most. So here are a few tips for the teflon-challenged.
- Don’t put teflon pans in the dishwasher. The harsh chemicals in automatic dishwashing detergents damage the non-stick surfaces.
- Don’t use metal utensils when cooking. The metal will scratch and scrape the non stick surface off.
- Don’t use anything over medium heat. Too much heat will affect the surface causing permanent damage.

That is silly…whats the use of having a pan you cannot use over medium heat?
No teflon for you!
