The Improving College Girl Ratio
September 14, 2006 by Greg

A recent sports illustrated article describes a new trend U.S. academics.
This fall, 58 percent of the U.S. college population will be female, and more women stay in college and more apply all the time. When this freshman class graduates in 2010, the Department of Education estimates that as many as three out of every five diplomas will go to women.
The article hypothesizes that society steers men towards athletics instead of academics, thus the minority of male students. While a decline in the educated male population is definitely a negative trend, assuredly there is something appealing about an increase in the amount of college girls.
