Sub Rosa Terragon

Being an avid vodka infuser as well as fan of all things delicious, this new vodka from sub rosa is peaking my interest. Their unique infusion of tarragon makes me want to through all of my other dried herbs into glasses of vodka and taste the results.
Slashfood’s description makes me want to put a case on order.
The main ingredient infusing the Tarragon Sub Rosa is fresh, locally grown in Oregon, French tarragon. To balance and build on the spicy and complex anise taste of the tarragon is a dash of fennel and a hint of mint. The aroma and flavor remind me of pushing my way through those patches of wild tarragon in the wilderness.

I’m not sure I know what Terragon is, but I don’t underestimate the power of an herb to work wonders on Vodka. Not after succumbing to the seductive power of the dill.
Tarragon, the French type, not the wild Russian is an aromatic herb with a light licorice yet herbal flavor. Not hard core black licorice though. Not anised like atar anise or even fennel. You see it used in chicken dishes or even to flavor something exotic like Salmon Tartare.
The Sub Rosa Tarragon vodka is basically a tarragon infusion with a backbeat of mint for flavor dynamics and balance. At 90 proof though, this girl packs a whollop. Lazer like flavors. Subtle yet intense. Only available in Oregon, Washington and soon in California.
Jonathan liked it quite a bit if you read the story above.
