samsung blackjack : product review
November 14, 2006 by Cash

I’ll admit it.
The first thing that drew me to this device was the name. It’s certainly no secret I’m a fan of Blackjack. Besides that though, my venerable Sony Ericsson T610 (yep, the original) is starting to show it’s age and I’m perusing the market for a replacement.
I’ve heard good things about Samsung in general, and being a flip phone hater appreciate the Blackjack’s “bar” configuration.
In reading the complete review by About-Electronics, there were only 3 drawbacks I could see;
- No support for gTalk (Google’s IM client)
- Apparently optimized for Cingular’s new network (I’m an ol’ skool T-mobile supporter)
- Not exactly tiny
On the plus side, video streaming, XM satellite music support, full Outlook integration and even (Cerveny, get a load of this) an RSS reader.
Certainly worth considering.

Let me know if you are looking at or reviewing any other phones. I also am pursuing the market for a new phone…and I too am a supporter of T-Mobile. So any information on phones or plans from you guys would be awesome. Maybe a post on how to get a better deal. Glenn got a great one from Sprint. But it’s Sprint…
