quick tip: using google mobile for urban monarch

Internet access wise, I admit my cell phone situation is somewhat archaic. Although I’ll sometimes use Google SMS for rudimentary info (weather, phone numbers, etc), I don’t pay for ‘data’ access on my phone and therefore have never attempted true browsing.

Last night on the bus ride home that changed, and I made a pretty cool discovery about Urban Monarch in the process.

Boredom is the mother of experimentation (just ask the nearest hot, female college roomates.. RAWR!). Riding home through the chilly Colorado twilight, I found myself investigating the various options on my phone. Eventually; a prompt that said “Go To URL”. Ever the narcissist, I entered “http://www.urbanmonarch.com/“. The tiny world icon spun for awhile, and then “FILE TOO LARGE - ERROR”. Whammy.

After a few other false starts, I ended up on Google. From here, searching for ‘urban monarch’, brought up a link to our site. A link that when clicked, quickly displayed a perfectly formatted, tiny-screen ready version of UM. I was ecstatic. Apparently, those mad geniuses at Google labs have figured out a translation algorithm that can make almost any site mobile friendly.

Read more here, and start getting your UM fix whereever you happen to be.

also the whole ability of google maps to triangulate you with cell towers for their mobile google maps app is great.
