qdoba is like crack

It started with a mysterious text message. It was Fat Tuesday, and the familiar vibration of my phone in my pocket startled me awake during an afternoon staff meeting. It was from a girl I hadn’t heard from in ages, and went something like this:

SHOW THIS TEXT ON FAT TUESDAY AT ANY QDOBA RESTAURANT TO RECEIVE ONE FREE MEXICAN GUMBO

I had never eaten at Qdoba, and finding myself hungry arriving downtown around 8PM decided to give it a shot. Walking towards the restaurant, something immediately caught my eye. Huge signs outside proclaiming:

HAPPY HOUR 3-CLOSE: $1.50 Domestics, $2.50 Imports, $3.00 Well

Obviously, I was in for more than just a free food treat. I started off with the gratis gumbo and two $1.50 Killian’s. The food was delicious. A thick bowl of chicken, rice, tomato soup and gawd knows what else, dolloped with a scoop of sour cream and sprinkled with tortilla strips.

Delighted with my take, (under $4 for an entire meal with two beers? Hells yeah) I forwarded the text to several friends and headed home, not thinking twice about Qdoba.

Then it happened. Just a few days later, a Tuesday night found me within eyeshot of Qdoba’s neon sign and … WHAMO.. I found myself wandering in. This time, for a $6.59 burrito and three beers.. approx cost? $10.

This has continued once or twice a week since. Their crafty, drug dealer style ‘free sample’ has me hooked. Damn you Qdoba marketing department. Damn you and your cheap beers and addictive food straight to hell!

do you prefer sweatpants or a MuMu for your birthday present?

I think I better stick with the sweatpants; I’m picturing neon green with reflective tape up the back to warm oncoming semis they’d do well to steer clear..

man oh how i love qdoba…..in my opinion it’s better than chipotle, only because i can’t handle the spiciness of chipotle’s food.

Oh man! Don’t even get me going about Qdoba. There is one right next to were I work…lets just say that if I don’t go there at least twice a week for lunch then I go into withdrawals:p

Matt, Raquel, we need a support group. I vote for the meetings to be held @ Qdoba.

Oh fuck dude I’ve been on the Qdoba train solid for almost 2 years. I’ve been twice in the same day several times and multiple times a week quite frequently. I have a serious problem. My new “second home” has a Chipotle across the street and a Starbucks which is my “other” crack.

[...] I’ve always been a fan of Chipotle, especially considering thier Colorado roots.  Ever since discovering Qdoba’s downtown Denver happy hour madness however, I’ve become obsessed.  [...]
