project angel heart - dining out for life 2008

There are two annual dining events in Denver I try to attend every year.  The first, Denver Restaurant Week, has been talked about here and here.  The second, Project Angel Heart’s “Dining Out For Life” is a far more important cause and I encourage all of our local readers to make an effort to take part:

Join more than 80,000 people who will dine out for a great cause on Thursday, May 1, 2008. Dine out with family and friends at one of your favorite restaurants and 25% of your food bill will go directly to Project Angel Heart. Pick from more than 350 of the best restaurants in Denver, Boulder, and Colorado Springs to dine at for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Dining Out for Life® raises more than $380,000 for Project Angel Heart.

Project Angel Heart provides

meals with love for people living with HIV/AIDS, cancer and other life-threatening illnesses in Denver and Colorado Springs

Mark your calendars for the day after tomorrow.

    Hi Cash:

Thanks for writing about Dining Out for Life day! All the volunteers and restaurants are getting excited.

I just wanted to let folks know that in addition to dining out, there are tons of volunteer opportunities available. If someone is interested at representing Project Angel Heart in their favorite restaurant or helping out in May, they can let us know by emailing volunteer@projectangelheart.org.

    Thanks again!

Thanks for mentioning this. I have a family member with a terminal illness who is going to be using these meals. He’s lost a lot of weight so these high calorie meals will help prevent that. I went to Cherry Cricket for lunch and Romano’s with my family for dinner tonight to support this.

Thanks for the comment Greg O.

I hit City Grille. Not only was it packed but rather than go the super cheap route per my normal m.o. (coupons!) I had the most expensive dinner I could, given the choices on offer.

I hope the event was another huge success for them.

PS: Cherry Cricket rawks. Great choice!

    :-)
