friends_and_goals.jpg

I’ll readily ask a friend to grab a drink, meet some girls, or go out for a weekend in Vegas.  However, until recently,  I was hesitant to ask if they wanted to join me in a goal.  Since I’ve done this though, I’m not looking back.

It started simple enough with a friend of mine telling me he was getting up at 6:30am everyday.  Quick to join in, I told him I was interested in doing the same.  A week of missed alarm clocks and over sleeping, he recommended we take turns calling each other in the morning to make sure we were up.  I haven’t over slept since.

Not only did it make me accountable for my goals, it made it easier to achieve the goal.  It’s a lot more fun to wake up at 6:30am and chat with your friend then to wake up at 6:30am and force yourself to get out of bed.  If I’m ever lacking motivation one day, the phone call or text is all I need to get back on track.

Self improvement really comes down to just one thing, making a better life.  If it is something that will ultimately lead to a better life for me, it will probably will lead to a better life for someone else. I’m more apt to share my goals and see who’s interested in joining.  After all, what’s the use in improving my life if my friends are left behind?

I think this is a great idea, but I have one question: is that picture from Pride radio?

Ha. Sure looks like it Cash. And to think, one of those is my brother… And Greg, how is your resolution coming along? With the more intimate relationships?

Oh yeah shit. I forgot about that.
