poll: morning vice?
Sometimes, as the weekend’s headlights start to fade from view come Sunday night, I find myself unable to let it go without a proper send off. Last night for instance Greg, the lovely Claire and I went to see “Black Snake Moan” (hot hot HOT) and then retired to a local watering hole featuring “Operation night”. As in the game “Operation”. Remove the piece without setting the buzzer off and your drink was free. After enjoying a round on the house there, we headed to Claire’s for an enlightening conversation over Grey Goose & orange juice.
I begrudgingly walked home, and in one last middle finger raised to the coming work week, enjoyed a Heineken while watching a strange video and sending suggestive texts to certain hot redhead I’m rather keen on.
When 5:30 came around this morning, my hatred of the alarm was only tempered by my faith in a certain early morning ritual that always gets the day started right.
Alarm goes off. Snooze button is hit. 2 No-Doze are popped. I lay back down. Alarm goes off again. I’m up and feeling marginally awake.
How about you? What’s the trick to jump starting your engine on a cold foggy morning?

I tried some ayurvedic morning rituals recently. Here’s some info from yoga journal. Taking a couple extra minutes to drink a glass of water, set my intentions, and washing my face before my usual morning routine gave me a lot more energy.
However, I really like sleeping. My experiment was short lived.
I never seem to have much luck staying consistent on any sorta routine, but a couple things i do that helped are this:
1. put on an upbeat playlist
2. use natural sunlight or some alternative lighting if i have to get up before the sun
3. keep wiggling my toes/feet around, i dunno maybe the circulation being upped by this helps or something (beware of cats around,i ended up with having my feet attacked way too many times by an ex-girlfriend’s cat at one point, did wake me up though)
