poll: high school hooch

This past Thursday night found Greg, Zach and I taking a detour from our normal Lodo haunts.  In search of adventure, we headed East on the notorious “15″ bus which runs up Colfax avenue, aka one of the sketchiest stretches of road in the mile high city.

We soon found ourselves at a dive bar deep in the heart of a budget motel; 80’s music and videos blaring, a variety of strange characters in various states of insobriety, and us, bellying up to the bar. 

The special of the night?  $1 shots of “Mad Dog” 20-20.

Greg and Zach were both well aquainted with this upscale beverage from their high school days. 

It was brand new to me, but drinking it (especially the “Purple Haze” flavor) reminded me of my own tipple of choice circa 16 years old:  Purple Passion, a kool aid like libation made by Everclear and sold in a 2 liter bottle.
