poll: have you ever dated someone at work?
June 18, 2007 by Cash
I have a hard and fast rule against dating at work. Now. This enlightenment was the result of a one part torrid, two parts tragic affair that ended in my resigning from a company to distance myself from the situation.
How about you intrepid Urban Monarch romeos?
If you have any funny / disturbing tales of office romance gone wrong, be sure to add it in the comments.

I used to hold a strong stigma against dating coworkers, but that was when I really cared about my job.
Now that I realize how little a job means, I regret those many missed opportunities…
you can meet some pretty cool people at work
never done so, but i’d always give it a thought if the person works in a different enough area from where i did. besides with the way people jump around from work place to work place as it is. more than likely you aren’t going to be cow-orkers forever.
Two situations for me. First time dated someone (which was pretty much just a fling), but another person in the office became jealous because I didn’t “choose” him and that equaled him becoming my arch nemesis in the world of TV news. Second time I dated someone from work it ended but then we came the best of friends. I think it really depends on the other person in the situation. Some can handle the aftermath, others can’t. But needless to say, I’m not with either one anymore. Ha.
Dating someone at work definitely has its benefits (ie. making out in the elevator), but it also has its disadvantages. There’s the office gossip and then the awkward interaction after the relationship goes sour. Not fun at all.
Hahahahahaaaaa! No, not yet. But I’m working on it. A new job… and they will all be under my rule, at work and in the bedroom! I can just hear the cracking of the whips;)
can i come work with you?
Ugh, I dated a coworker once. A direct one too, not someone in another department.
It was actually kind of funny when she dumped me.. she was fired within 3 days. She accused me of getting her fired.
Apparently our relationship was the only thing keeping her ass employed there, because they didn’t want to risk losing me. Being a star employee is pretty slick 8-).
