I have not heard of that movie but I will be sure to check it out soon.

That is crap.. $5???

I can even use my MGM-Mirage players card at the MGM in Detroit. It's great. Speaking of the Mirage, if you go there find a craps dealer named Skip. He is the best. Older guy, white hair. Tells a lot of bad jokes.

I haven't seen that one, but may have to check it out. An excellent gambling movie that should be required viewing for all gambler's anonymous meetings: Owning Mahoney.

I live 'near' several casinos, but unfortunately (perhaps fortunately) the maximum bet allowed by law is $5, which completely negates advantage blackjack play.

They don't even offer Craps. Which is, well, Crap.

Nirvana for me is having come bets on every number with max odds bets plus mad odds behind the pass line. Maybe some hard way bets thrown in for a little excitement.

Love gambling.

I recently watched that movie "Two for the money" with Pacino. Overall pretty crappy movie. However I did like how they presented that a gambler has to risk a certain amount to feel that excitement of a win...

Good thing I don't live by 4 casinos. Oh wait...

GREAT point J, and thanks for the comment. A post on Craps will be forthcoming. Even though I'm definitely a disciple of Blackjack first and foremost, craps is definitely a close 2nd. Being quite serious about my blackjack play (which limits the random 'fun' aspect somewhat) it's sometimes a welcome relief to step away from the table once in awhile and throw a black or two on the pass line, just for the thrill of it.

I did that at Imperial Palace (yes, divey, but had good blackjack rules at the time) two trips ago and was ecstatic at the shooter making the point once, then throwing a 7 on the come out in quick succession.

Ah Vegas.

Great scene in Casino about this game. Hell you could write an article about that movie for this blog. Classic.

I need to try Baccarat sometime... my problem is I can't tear myself away from the dice. How about an article on craps?

What I like about craps is its a team event. In blackjack when you win, thats great you are happy and you get money.

In craps when the shooter hits his point *everybody* wins and everybody goes nuts. When you walk the floor and hear cheering in the background 99 times out of a 100 (or more) its coming from the craps pit. It has a social/team aspect other games don't have.

You start making dealer bets and then you have them on your side too. Everybody wins. Its my all time favorite. If you want to be where the action is on the floor, hit the craps table.

One more thing, it is NOT as difficult as everyone makes it out to be. Yes it is a bit more complicated in terms of bets and payouts but it is really not as bad as ppl say.
