Performance Driving School

I’m not a big fan of cars in general, but this new school from BMW sounds more than a little a tempting.  Who wouldn’t want to drive a new BMW over black ice simulators and under road dividing waterfalls ?

The BMW Performance Driving School is where you take your driving skills to the Master’s level. Your campus: a $12.5 million, state-of-the-art Performance Center. With a skid pad. Slalom course. Water walls. Professional driving instructors. And, of course, a fleet of new BMWs. The BMW Performance Driving School is about control. It’s about pushing a BMW to its limits. And yours. It’s about discovering the joy of driving. So when you face the everyday hazards of the highways, you’re ready. You’ve already experienced and mastered these challenges in a controlled environment. And emerged a joyful, more confident driver.

You don’t even need to own a bmw to participate.  More info at the BMW experience.

That sounds phreaking incredible. I’ve been lucky enough to be invited to a few ‘private test drive’ parties (Lexus, BMW, Corvette/GM/Hummer, and Mercedes) that are usually held @ Invesco Field’s parking lots. By far, the most fun was at the Mercedes event when we were able to put the AMG SL-55 through its paces on a course that included a black ice simulator. Makes your own car feel like a big wheel by comparison. Great pic too.
