Organic Foods are Better for You

I’ve always found the organic food industry to be a justifiably debatable topic. With no studies to prove it’s effectiveness, organic foods have always been subject of scrutiny against price conscious shoppers. However, a recent four year study has been completed that finds organic food to be more nutritious than it’s conventionally grown competitors.

The study found that organic fruit and vegetables contained as much as 40% more antioxidants, which scientists believe can cut the risk of cancer and heart disease, Britain’s biggest killers. They also had higher levels of beneficial minerals such as iron and zinc.

Maybe it’s worth that extra 20 cents a banana after all. The times online provides a summary.
