Derailed (with Clive Owen, Jeniffer Aniston and Vincent Cassel) - I don't even want to tell you what's happening, it is so different from your usual three-way romance... one of the best movies I have seen in the recent months... in DVD.

"Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang" was so unexpectedly good. Post-ironic and self-referential without being annoying... which , until now, hasn't been done well.

Equilibrium - somehow this got overlooked way more than it should have. sci-fi look at keeping us from destroying the world from future wars by submerging people's emotions.

V for Vendetta - great depiction of a graphic novel. captured to esence of the characters.

CIty of God - Forgein film from Brazil depicting the diverging paths of a couple of youths growing up in a ghetto portion on a major metropolis in south america.

The Thin Man - an old classic, great humour and the interactions between the two stars of the film is great pacing.

One of the most intense movies I've seen recently (actually, ever) is a french film called "Love Me If You Dare".

To say that it's a deranged love story is an understatement.

It starts out with two kids who meet in elementary school and begin playing a game of 'dare' that basically involves agreeing to do WHATEVER the other person commands when it's their turn to 'dare'.

By the time they reach college, their feelings for one another shift into a bizarre romance.

The closing sequence of this movie is one of the most disturbing I have ever seen.

Highly, highly recommended.
