Open Forum Fridays : Favorite Vacation Spots

I’m traveling in China and it’s been fantastic. The hardest part is the language barrier — when I’ve been in Europe I’m able to get by and communicate with the locals. In China, the language is so completely different from those with Latin roots that it can be very hard and frustrating. But this annoyance is certainly not a show-stopper in deciding whether to visit China.
Next on the list is visiting Buenos Aires and putting my Tango chops to the test. I hear it’s an affordable “Paris of the South”… I’ll just keep my fingers crossed there’s not a coup d’état while I’m there.
Readers, do you have a favorite vacation spot or somewhere you’re dying to visit? Do you prefer places with lots of history and sites to see, or something more relaxing like a sunny beach?
NYC without a doubt (followed of course by Las Vegas).

My favirites have always been Greece, Southern France (Cannes and Monte Carlo), and most of all Vienna. Prague will always have a place in my heart since I lived there for 8 months. A trip to Croatia and Southern Spain (the Basque region) will be in order soon.
Oh man, I am honestly gonna have to add KRQE to my list as well. Good gawd. Great pick Greg.
Brazilian beaches are my favorite. Party all day and all night long. Great women, great weather, great cocktails … what else can you ask for?
