Open Forum: Best Present Ever
December 8, 2006 by Greg

I have been blessed with a lot of close friends through out my life from which I’ve received a lot of great, heart felt presents. One that sticks out to me is an unusual gift that I really enjoyed.
5 years ago I lived with my brother, his girlfriend, and another girl. The four of us shared a house together in a city where we were all attending college. One of the gifts his girlfriend bought me that Christmas was a pair of flannel snowflake pajamas. The main reason for this gift, I suspect, was that she was tired of seeing me run around the house in my boxer shorts. I wore those things all seasons for several years till a small hole turned to a very large one and they became un-wearable.
Another part of this gift was a mint linen spray. It smelled delicious. I never used it regularly, as I hardly even made my bed regularly, so it lasted about 5 years. 4 moves later, I found myself still packing the almost empty linen spray. At that point I realized how attached I was to the scent.
So this weeks open forum topic is this: What are the best presents you’ve ever received?

One of my best presents was a zippo lighter engraved with one of my favorite Depeche Mode quotes:
“Always knows the prospect, learn to expect, nothing”.
Awesome one, Cash. I was going to say my engraved Swiss Army Knife that my friend brought me back from Switzerland. It’s a small one, and I find myself using it every day.
