I don't believe that you have ever carried a school bag full of books. Maybe you have, but one or two books is no problem. When there are five or six that weigh a combined total of 40-50 lbs. that really is a pain to carry around all day.
I'm considering getting a roller bag just for that reason, but hesitate on the idea that it makes me feel like a wuss. I actually agree with you to a point about hating the roller bags. Any suggestions?

[...] If there’s one thing I hate (besides roller backpacks), it’s mySpace. From the seizure inducing madness that comprises 99% of people’s profiles to the guaranteed drama-enhancing effects of your current girlfriend seeing a ‘what’s up’ from some *other* girl in your comments (oh SNAP indeed), it’s just ridiculous to me. (note: yes, Urban Monarch has a mySpace profile, but it’s purely a promotional vehicle for the site, nothing more.) Beyond all that though, the mere concept itself is an exercise in ego masturbation the likes of which the world has never seen. [...]

I absolutely hate the rolling briefcases and rolling backpacks. Nothing more annoying that the crazy guy in the office speeding through the office at high speed wheeling one of these behind him. Grrrrrrrrr.

Woah. I didn't even realize this article was dogging backpacks. I thought it was dogging rolly backpacks.

I used to sport messenger bags because they were cooler, but after the 8 years of carting around a laptop, you realize hanging a 5lb computer plus trappings off your side isn't the most comfortable way to travel. I should pick up a nice messenger style bag for my books and other gear when i'm not laptop packing.

One thing I hate is rolly backpacks. The other thing I hate is rolly briefcases. I think the only rolly bags that are acceptable come in suitcase form. If it's not holding clothes for some sort of trip, it just screams lazy and fat.
