one thing i hate: flip flops on girls

June 1, 2007 by Cash

There, I said it.

It’s an awful look ladies, and I don’t care how fancy or from which designer they may be.  Don’t give me “they’re comfortable” either.  A wife beater and velvet sweat pants might be “comfortable” for me too, but you don’t see me wearing ‘em.

PS:  Those things are terrible for your back.

PPS: And your front.

I agree completely. Flip flops are not flattering (I don’t care HOW nicely your toenails are done) even though guys like many other aspects of a “low maintenance” look. Flip flops just ain’t it! Many women look great with little or no makeup. Pony tails do it for me and if she drives a Jeep (Wrangler not Cherokee) then that’s just THAT much sexier! But french manicured nails, make-up, and hair done paired with flip flops does NOT constitute low maintenance. Just lazy “fashion” in the interest of trendiness! Then again, maybe I’m just old fashioned!

Thanks Ben. I totally agree. It’s even more painful, as you mentioned, when a girl otherwise has

“french manicured nails, make-up, and hair done..”

and then I look down and it’s like WHAMMY: flip flops.

I apologize to all those men who I’ve offended with my flip flop wearing. I vow to never offend another man with my atrocious shoes.

    Please forgive…..

    ;-)

I feel ya! Women should not wear flip flops. Although,I found myself purchasing some to were boating this weekend. When are they appropriate to wear and are there any alternatives?

p.s. Raquel…I still have much luv for ya…flip flops and all! ;)

No one has added Crocs to the list yet?

Finally, I’ve always hated flip flops. Occasions like boating they become apropriate also the beach. Work, School, trip to the store, take ten extra seconds to put on shoes.

    Crocs are the worst!

As much as I agree with you Cash, I would prefer beautiful feet in flip-flops to any foot in Uggs!!!

What I’M sayin’ about flip flops…… I live in Florida, it’s hot most of the year here and we don’t go by the dress code the rest of you might. In the south, we don’t walk around with unpainted toes or unshaven legs hidden beneath long pants and closed-toe shoes. On a special occasion we opt for a wedge, stilletto, or other fashionable sandle. I have around 200 pairs of glorious flip-flops and I dare say….no dude has ever walked past me and noticed my sparkling blue eyes, captivating smile, charming personality, subtle cleavage, and, in a million years, have been able to tell you I was wearing flip-flops!

So the next time I’m in my bikini at the beach or a bar with a sand floor or even in a rush to get out the door to go to Wal Mart you can bet I’ll have on, yep, you guessed it…..uggs! Now there’s a shoe that needs bashing! How do you feel about the “denim mini and cowboy boots” look?

Finally, i found a web page for this sort of thing. Flips flops annoy me so much, I would rather a girl wear leather sandals, anything besides rubbber flip flops. I personally feel it cheapens women who wear them. I broke up with my former girlfriend because she insisted on wearing them all the time. Flip flops ruin the clothes girls wear, its such a hobo look.

Flip flops are horrible! I’m in Chicago and people wear them on the “el” - who knows what’s on the floor - yuck! Not to mention the fact that someone could smash your foot on a crowded train. The look is nasty - dirty feet with nice clothes - it just doesn’t go together. It’s totally out of control, too! Just today I saw a woman in a full-on business suit with a pair of flip flops - then a guy in a shirt and tie with flip flops!!! Come on people, enough is enough!

The most offensive and unflattering footwear ever devised. To see a woman with beautiful legs and then see those legs resting on a feculent pair flip flops. Just unforgivable. It’s always a special treat when you get too see a woman’s heel calluses! Oh and that slapping sound!!!! Women here at work wear them in the office,” Hey everyone look at my hammer toes and the fungus on my shoes!” It drops the most beautiful woman to a zero. Birkenstocks are a close second.
