new york’s most expensive whiskey
June 22, 2007 by Cash

I gave Greg some serious shit about opting for $12 shots of *sambuca* at the Holiday Inn bar in NYC on his recent trip. I suppose it could have been worse though. Like $2988 worse.
The Borgata hotel & casino in NJ (still considered “metro New York” I suppose) is offering Macallan Fine and Rare collection scotch for the bargain basement price of just $3000/shot.
This rare Scotch whiskey was bottled in 1926 and costs $38,000 a bottle. “This whisky is unique and consumable, so it’s much more difficult to find,” says Goldstein.
Whiskey is becoming the choice of drink for many alcohol drinkers. A possible explanation of why the drink has achieved such popularity is proffered by its many types. Today, there are bourbon extremists who specifically look to purchase the exceptionally rare and limited-edition whiskies, often not to drink but to add to their collection.
Something tells me this would have been even tastier than the Sambuca.

mmm whiskey. I’m going to Cool River this afternoon for another work function (OPEN BAR) and will definitely schmooze my way to some good whiskeys and scotches
I’ll definitely report back to you what I think, Cash.
nice.
i think more in my price range would have been one of my favorite haunts: St. Andrews. with a 4 PAGE scotch menu if you probably will find something to like there.

there are so many great places in and around nyc staying in the hotel bar seems a little silly, with a few exceptions
Woo woo! Most definitely.
In my defense, I was buying a quick shot for my friend’s little brother’s 21st birthday before we were headed out the door to the graduation. I did not ‘hang out’ in the bar drinking sambuca you pricks.
