music: sasquatch! music festival
February 21, 2007 by Cash
When Depeche Mode toured in 2001 for their “Exciter”album, a friend of mine and his girlfriend followed them for several shows, culminating with a performance at “The Gorge” Amphitheatre in Washington state.
Though I’d never heard of it, once he returned and I began to pour over his pictures of the show I was blown away by the gorgeousness of the venue.
Living in Denver I take great pride in having Red Rocks a mere 25 minute drive away.
Still, I’d reckon the Gorge is a close 2nd in the ‘amazing places to see a concert’ rankings.
It sits high atop a cliff overlooking the scenic Columbia River.
As the sun sets, the vista is truly surreal in its beauty.
I was floored therefore to find out that the Sasquatch! music festival is being held there over Memorial Day weekend, and features a line-up almost rivaling Coachella in its sheer awesomeness.
My personal highlights:
Day 1:
- Bjork
- Arcade Fire
- Neko Case
Day 2:
- Interpol
- The Dandy Warhols
- Helio Sequence
Honorable mention:
Beastie Boys (Not the biggest fan but I know their shows are hella fun)

how much for tix?
Only $55 per day if you buy them during the onsale weekend.
let’s go! press pass please….
