Morning Influence
December 13, 2007 by Greg

I’m constantly improving the way I work and achieve my goals. My latest experiment is about keeping focus and setting the correct intention. When I say intention, I’m not promoting the idea of willing something into your life, I’m simply getting things ready and defining a desired outcome or goal.
This experiment is ultimately based on two key concepts.
1. What you consciously think about stays in your head after it has left your immediate attention. This is akin to thinking about a problem and later coming up with a solution to it. Another interpretation is thinking about doing something and later getting the motivation to do it.
2. When you sleep, your memories are sorted and stored in the appropriate locations. This is directly related to the first concept. The ideas circulating in your head are then put in the proper place when you rest. This leaves you with a blank canvas on a fresh awakening.
Based on these two ideas, ideas circulating and clean slates in the morning, I believe the first things you do in the morning determine how the rest of your day will be spent. So, I’m attempting in my first few moments of wakefulness to get just a few minutes of work done on specific goals. This gets my mind ready to accomplish it all day.

I definitely agree on the subconscious solution angle.. let us know how this works out.
