mojito recipe

Since the mojito was the hands down winner in our “Best Summer Cocktail” poll (and to avoid harassing your favorite bartender by ordering one), here’s the O.G. recipe for you to try at home.

Don’t forget your muddler.

  • 10 - 20 rinsed and freshly muddled mint leaves (each about 1 1/2 in. long)
  • One part rum
  • Two parts club soda
  • The juice from half a lime
  • 2 teaspoons of sugar or sugar cane juice (better yet, put an actual sugar cane stalk in the glass).

Muddle the mynt, add the lime juice and rum, and finally top with club soda.

I’ll try to present our good friend Zach’s recipe for the  jaw droppingly delicious variation ‘The Passionata’ sooner than later.

(”Passionata” is “Panty Peeler” in Italian.)  Or should be.

The recipe is fine, but you definitely don’t want to put as many as 20 mint leaves in one glass, that’s overdoing it. In a classic mojito, you only really need 4-8 mint leaves, plus more just for garnish (but not to be muddled)

Mojito Mike; thanks for the tip! That will save money as well.
