Manliest Drinks

While I personally think that the manliest drinks are the drinks that aren’t mixed.  This includes shots of vodka, whiskey neat, and tequila in a snifter. I guess I’ll still give the nod to this list of testosterone heavy cocktails.

We’re not talking manly drinks like Long Island Iced Teas. This isn’t about how quickly you can get drunk; nor are we talking about drinks with bad ass names like Snake Bite or Mind Eraser.

This is a list of the classics. The drinks of wise, confident men. Drinks that have been around for ages; not made-up at last year’s homecoming party at the frat bar. Think Frank Sinatra, James Bond, Ernest Hemingway, Winston Churchill…

On a similar note I suppose, this morning I was contemplating the holiday drink selection at Starbucks. My usual is a toffee-nut latte, but I really like the chai eggnog latte. This morning, I halfway considered the peppermint mocha latte, but was uncomfortable with that as it seems to “chicky” to me. When I mentioned that I was considering that drink, the barista took it further by asking, ” why not make it a white chocolate peppermint mocha?” To me, that was too much so I told her that just by suggesting that to me was a challenge to my manhood. She must’ve thought I was hitting on her because she blushed, smiled, and looked down while ringing up my order for a chai eggnog latte. Still feeling slight;y emasculated, I asked the barista to write black coffee on the side of my grande chick beverage. :-D
Regarding the “REAL” man’s drinks, I prefer vodka tonic and scotch. Scotch older than 12 yrs is neat and 12 yrs or less gets three ice cubes.

Omg.. classic stuff Ben: “Still feeling slight;y emasculated, I asked the barista to write black coffee on the side of my grande chick beverage”

Also, scotch neat is one of my favorites and definitely a ‘manly’ drink.
