is this cool?: spreadshirt.com
07Mar08
I’m trying to decide.
As you can see Spreadshirt is a site that lets you create custom tee-shirts, kind of like Cafe Press, but without all the set up hassles. I think it could be improved by allowing choice of tee shirt brand (they say American Apparel is an option, but I haven’t seen one tee shirt offering it). Also, more preset graphics would be cool, although a creative type could probably upload something sweet themselves.
Overall, ‘eh’.
What do you think?

I don’t know. Most of the things I see you guys writing about are a bit more sauve and manly. That just seems… well, it’s hard to put my finger on it, but it doesn’t fit with what I’ve seen from this blog.
I love the site, but I don’t love that shirt
meh, lacks something called originality
I’m afraid I’ll have to agree, this qualifies as uncool in my book (colors, message…)
Thank you all for commenting! I even received an email from my girlfriend on this. The truth is though, I was just referring to the site (spreadshirt.com) NOT the example shirt pictured
as of right now, we have no plans for a Urban Monarch tee shirt, I just put that together using their site to show off what it’s capable of. Seriously though, I think it’s mad cool that our readers would come out against something they don’t feel is “UM worthy” you guys, and girls, rawk, as always.
It’s tough to want any t-shirt for $20 - specially the inkjet printed fade after half dozen washes type of shirts from spreadshirt / cafe press type places.
It’s a fun technology, but the quality doesn’t justify the cost.
If you do decide to do T-shirts, there are plenty of real screen print shops that will give you a great price for great work. I’d be happy to refer you to a guy I use here In Detroit.
