in the u.s.a.? no perfect draft for you!
June 29, 2007 by Cash

Hot on the heels of my glowing Heineken Draught Keg review, I stumbled upon perhaps the coolest invention ever. A home beer dispenser that not only dishes out perfectly chilled suds, but does so while blending in with the other appliances on your counter top. In a cruel twist of fate not seen since Britney Spears’ transformation into a white trash troll; it’s only available in the U.K.
The PerfectDraft is a new appliance manufactured by PHILIPS with a real tap handle, internal cooling system, pump, and 6 litre light metal keg. The appliance keeps beer at a constant temperature of 3° C. Once installed, the beer stays fresh for four weeks.
The beers on offer are an impressive bunch as well, ranging from Stella Artois and Franziskaner Weissbier to.. (gulp).. Hoegaarden.

If you’re a glutton for punishment (and not in the U.K. already enjoying this divine creation) check it out here.
One can only hope somebody out there realizes the billion dollar potential of bringing this to the U.S.A.

how is this different than your standard kegerator, other than it’s fully prebuilt by Philips? and doens’t “blend in” with the other appliances?
It’s smaller, so it fits on your counter top. Also, there’s no pumping required (I’ve never had a kegerator so perhaps they’re the same in this regard).
Also, the cost is around $320 US (if it was offered here). I’m guessing that’s cheaper than a traditional kegerator?
Heineken is coming out with a similar product made by Krups which is available in the U.S.

Murphy’s.. oh my God Murphy’s..
Just saw this while shopping for a wine fridge:

The models are essentially the same, but the beers are definitely not. The beers you can get with the perfect draft are Belgian Beers, not you standard Heineken…
