improving itunes : automatic concert calendar
March 6, 2007 by Cash

iTunes is the most streamlined, asthetically pleasing, and user friendly jukebox out there in my opinion.
Certain plugins (Volume Logic for instance) have taken something good and made it even better.
The always insightful Thrillist just pulled back the covers on what may be the coolest iTunes improvement yet.
iConcertcal is an intelligent concert search engine that works within iTunes itself:
iCC combs websites like Tourfilter and JamBase for show dates, but saves you time by automatically matching them against your iTunes artists, then marks them on a custom, in-program calendar. In addition to updating weekly, iCC provides links for venues/tickets — so even if your “Can’t Touch This” download was drunkenly reckless, you’ll be alarmingly diligent in securing front-and-center seats for Hammer’s upcoming show at your local JCC.

What is tourfilter / jambase?
I’m guessing they’re similar services to Pollstar.
holy crap that is brilliant. I’ve been wanting something like this for years.
Okay I just actually installed and tried this and it is RIDICULOUSLY cool. At first I was disappointed because it was returning a bunch of shows in Los Angeles. When I realized you need to change the City/State in the upper left, it quickly spelled out Denver’s awesome upcoming summer. Seriously, if you use iTunes, you need this.
