How to Remove an Ink Security Tag

Mr Ports found himself in a predicament. He had an important meeting, no time, and a new suit with a security ink tag still attached. Not being one to back down, he figured out how to remove it on his own. After that, he couldn’t stop himself, and continued to dissect the security tag.

Last Monday I was flying to Scotland for a few days to have a chat with a few of our customers up there. I thought I would show them due respect so on Sunday afternoon I popped into Marks and Spencer and bought a new suit. When I got home I set to making our Sunday roast dinner so didn’t think about the whistle until about eleven that night when I went to pack. To my annoyance I found this bad boy attached to the arm. Clearly the assistant in the shop had missed it when he was putting the suit in a bag for me.

Check out the full dissection of the ink tag.

One of the commentors has a much simpler alternative:

“When I was a naughty lad the way to get round the ink tags was to stick the whole garment in the freezer so the ink froze and you could remove the tag with no dangers.”

The freezing of the ink tag thing did NOT work… with mine. however, I did remove the ink tag without ruining the garment by putting duck tape all around the outside of the ink side of the tag (and a plastic store bag around that) and ripping the other side of the tag apart with pliers and a screwdriver… this worked great..

I got home one day after buying some new luggage at TJ Maxx. When I opened the large bag I found a handbag inside. Someone had obviously planned on shoplifting. NOT ME, plus how dumb would you look caught with handbags inside your luggage?

Anyway, I had to decide if I was going to keep the bag or return it. It was only worth $35 so it didnt seem worth it to me to try and return it at the crack of dawn. Plus I was flying home the next morning and thought I could give it to my mom.

I figured since it was no loss and I didnt care about it that I would just lay it on a stack of paving tiles we had out back and whack the crap out of it with a hammer. I laid the little top part off the side of the bricks and aimed for it only without hitting the rectangle part. It shot the thing right off with no problem.

Once I also saw a woman in TJ Maxx cutting one off with kitchen shears. She tried to return a pair of expensive shoes that had been mismatched in the box. They wouldnt take them so she took them to the shoe section, selected the correct pair, and swapped them out. She cut the tag off with shears from the Home Goods section, put them back in the box, and rolled out.
