How to Keep Your Cellphone Charged
April 6, 2007 by Greg

My cell seems to always be running out of juice. A lot of this has to do with the fact that much like this week, I’ve only been home to sleep, and not even that happens every night. So, I’m regularly caught with a dead cell phone.
Digging around the internet, I’ve found a few solutions.
- Buy an extra wall adapter and keep it in my bag. ($8)
- Buy an extra battery and a battery charger. ($18)
- Buy a USB charger since I’m regularly around a computer. ($9)
- Buy a universal emergency charger that gives my phone a temp boost. ($14)
The wall adapter could work well, but would be cumbersome to carry around. The extra battery would come in handy, but keeping it regularly charged would be a problem. The usb would be great to charge off my laptop, workstation, or friends computer, but I could see times when I wouldn’t be around a usb port. The universal charger would be the most convenient, but offers a smaller charge and would require a fresh battery or two.
Any advice? How do you keep your cell phone charged?

I’ve never even heard of a USB charger, but I think for you (and me actually) it’s not very often you’re far from a computer for more than 6 hours at a time. I may have to look into one of those myself, once my new phone arrives. which better be soon, dammit.
most of the motorola and other phones i’m running across are using the mini USB connector to charge. if that’s the case you can use any mini USB cable to yank a charge off of whatever pc is handy.
also try looking into higher capacity batteries, i know that most cells come with a standard life battery and you can purchase a more expensive model that lasts a lot longer.
[...] Last night I came home to a big plastic white envelope with customs tags from Hong Kong. A few weeks ago, determined to solve the problem of a perpetually dead cellphone, I sought out all the possible portable charging options. Till I ripped open the package, I almost forgot that I had the full gamut of cell phone charging options on special order. [...]
