Guilty Confessions: Pride Radio

I wrote earlier about my love affair with hd radio. When looking for a little variety between my usual jazz, classical, and news programming, I have found my new favorite station, Pride Radio digital multicast in Denver. Filled with cheesy dance remixes of pop music, dance floor classics, and gloria estefan, I’m hooked.

Pride – programming for the gay and lesbian community, created by gay and lesbian development staff – already airs as 24/7 on-demand programming. It’s a featured on-demand option on 17 local Clear Channel Radio station Web sites nationwide and airs as an HD2 digital radio broadcast in five markets. The niche lifestyle format was launched in April 2006.

Guilty pleasure? Yes. Because it’s pride radio? No. Because there is Gloria Estefan / Rihanna remix playing and I’m digging it? Shhh, don’t tell anyone.

P.S. David Guetta’s Depeche Mode nod The World is Mine just came on…

This has Greg written all over it. I picture hearing a lot of ‘woot woot’ whistle action in the mixes…
