goldfrapp happiness video

“Happiness” the 2nd single from the sublime “Seventh Tree” features a video that is, in a word, amazing.
From the perfectly sync’d jumping of the young man at the video’s center (almost remniscent of some of the home grown Daft Punk YouTubes, Harder Better Faster Hands, etc) to the multiple cameo appearances of Alison herself in a variety of outfits (everything from a gardener, to a cop, to an old lady at the bus stop), there’s plenty of action to keep you glued to the screen.
The most incredible element though, is that the entire video appears to be a single-shot sequence.
If this IS the case, Alison’s frantic costume changes between appearances are noteworthy. If it isn’t? Ridiculous props to the director for making the transitions so seemless.
Watch it. You’ll be glad you did.
Viva Goldfrapp.

Ahh…
This song was the highlight of their coachella performance.
There are a couple places where an object wipes in front of the camera and you would be surprised at the magic editors can do in the editing suite. I would have to look more closely. But great video none-the-less.
Yeah, I give mad props for the smoothness. The video’s just fun all around.. great companion for the song itself.
