Getting Laid on Craigslist

Every so often I’ve wandered into the casual encounters section on craigslist. It’s an entertaining section filled with proposed free sex of all varieties. By all varieties I mean, wtf you can’t be serious types of sex. You really have to see it to understand.
Simen Owens found himself browsing one day and decided to test the odds. He placed four ads of varying sex and orientation in New York, Chicago, and Houston and measured the response rate. The results, not surprisingly, were really bad odds for heterosexual males. Check out the full study.
I can’t speak to the ‘casual encounters’ section, but the ‘normal’ F seeking M or whatever can be very.. um.. ‘beneficial’ depending on what you’re looking for. Or so I’ve ‘heard’
One funny anecdote;
I once met a girl (via CL) who was in town on business from NYC. We met for drinks. She told me in NYC Craig’s List is used so much, by so many people for this type thing (quick hook ups)that guy friends of hers claim a 30 minute response time to ads they post.
As in THIRTY MINUTES until they’re WITH a ‘date’.
That’s faster delivery than pizza these days.
So as long as you mask the intention of getting some in the dating section then your odds improve… hmm…
