Four Ways to Tie a Tie
October 3, 2006 by Greg

Growing up my father taught me one knot, the four in hand. Around, under, and through. It’s probably the knot most people know. While some claim the four in hand knot is for prep school girls, I argue it still has a place with skinny ties and 80’s night. In any case, it’s good to have a small repertoire of knots.
Discussion Question: What kind of knot are you using?

Rare is the day I find myself needing to tie a tie (thank you, ‘business casual’ cubefarm) but when I do, I use the Four in Hand.
I have to say this is a GREAT site you’ve found Greg.
It’s the first that’s made the other knots understandable. I’ll have to give them each a try.
Half Windsor in the house. Sifu was going to teach us an unknown “Matrix-style” knot — what happened with that?
