fashion: arrogant men’s wear
February 7, 2007 by Cash

One of the cardinal rules of attracting attention (i.e. women) in bars and clubs is to have a look that makes you stand out.
Some people take this concept to a bizarre ‘clothing as performance art’ extreme sometimes referred to as ‘peacocking’.
In my opinion, unless this level of showmanship is completely congruent with who you truly are, you’ll be branded a fashion leper before you say hello.
Not an ideal situation.
When I head out on the town, I try to maintain a ‘fashion forward’ look that skirts the line between trendy and independent.
I recently came across a site that seems to cater to this delicate balance rather well.
Arrogantmenswear.com was apparently started by ‘dating coach’ and former magician Barrett Solberg (If this combo sounds similar to someone else in the community, perish the thought, this guy could easily pass as the “anti-Mystery”).
Regardless of his pick up credentials though, his fashion sense seems pretty sound.
Expect graphic printed button ups with some serious ‘edge’.
Prices range from $40 - $130 and as an added bonus, the womens’ clothing on offer is modeled by some delicious specimens indeed.
From the About Us section of the site:
Look… You wanna make a statement? You want to wear apparel that states your unique status as a powerful man wanting to stay powerful? You understand that it is ok to be a man, to like what men like, to play hard and work harder, to leave the friggin seat up… then you may be right for Arrogant Menswear.
However, if you want to ‘dialogue’ with us concerning our ‘feminine side’, curl up with a good Oprah book and talk about your feelings, you may want to visit the Disney store and pick out a cute pair of jammies. Move along, there isn’t anything here for you.
Yes, it’s all rather hilarious but trust me, the clothing itself isn’t.
Here is a direct link to the Arrogantmenswear shop. For some reason, the ‘base’ URL linked above wouldn’t load properly.
