There was a time when a young man’s path to manhood led him on a journey that was reserved for the elite. Wealthy families entreated these young men to what became known as “The Grand Tour.” The tour covered the best of what Europe had to offer; the Vistas at Bruges, the streets of Paris and Rome, the sun kissed beaches in Spain, and of course the museums and monuments that shaped European history.
The tour could last from a few months to a few years, and in that time the young man was exposed to cultures unlike his own. Today, there are a fortunate few that still take part in “The Grand Tour” as a right of passage.
Arts In Europe offers a comprehensive listing of websites geared towards those of us without two years to travel through Europe the opportunity to see the sites visited on “The Grand Tour.”
You will find a collection of sites covering Architecture and Art in Spain, Holland, Finland, Germany, Belgium, Hungary, Romania, and Switzerland. The site also offers information on discounted vacation packages to each of those countries.

Aaah to be young, regal, and rich!
The real wealth lies in knowing about the countries, and cultures around the world. Being able to tell a fantastic travel story during dinner, or with company can be more rewarding than how much money you make.
